Ice Woman

Posted by blueheronbobcat on July 16, 2010

The title of this post refers only to the solarize effect I used on this photo, which I think makes it look like ice. It does not refer to the beautiful model, Barbara, who is very friendly and witty and does not have an icy personality in any way. I took some photos of her recently and really liked the penetrating eyes of this one. With the icy effect, it makes her look to me like she has super powers which can turn her into an Ice Woman, and I almost feel like she could use those powers to turn me into ice with her glance if she wanted to. 🙂

This is the original photo which shows her in her normal non-Ice Woman mode.

Cinderella’s Slippers

Posted by blueheronbobcat on July 14, 2010

These are some shoes that Briana (see post below) was going to wear for our photo session, but we never got around to using them. They looked pretty on the front porch in front of the rocking chair. I wasn’t going to photograph them but I was coaxed into it by my wife. I’m glad I did.

Briana

Posted by blueheronbobcat on July 12, 2010

I have been wanting to learn more about portrait photography, so I asked a friend if she would be willing to let me photograph her. She is a beautiful young lady, and has some interesting hats that she wanted to model. The photo shoot was done outdoors, in the evening, in Florida, with mosquitos. She was a trooper and hung in there with me for a little over an hour. These are a couple of my favorite shots.

Miami, from the eye of a Fish

Posted by blueheronbobcat on July 8, 2010

This is another of the Miami skyline photos from my recent visit there. Even though the Miami skyline is beautiful I didn’t want it to get boring just showing photos of the skyline from my point of view. So I decided to show the skyline through the eye of a fish. Well, not really….but you already knew that. I used a fisheye distortion filter on one of my photos to produce this effect.
