Photos and Commentary

  • This blog is mostly devoted to photography. I'm still learning, and each photograph I take teaches me more about how to do it better the next time.

I like this quote by Jacques-Henri Lartigue: β€œI take photographs with love, so I try to make them art objects. But I make them for myself first and foremost - that is important.”

Ice Woman

Posted by blueheronbobcat on July 16, 2010

The title of this post refers only to the solarize effect I used on this photo, which I think makes it look like ice. It does not refer to the beautiful model, Barbara, who is very friendly and witty and does not have an icy personality in any way. I took some photos of her recently and really liked the penetrating eyes of this one. With the icy effect, it makes her look to me like she has super powers which can turn her into an Ice Woman, and I almost feel like she could use those powers to turn me into ice with her glance if she wanted to. πŸ™‚

This is the original photo which shows her in her normal non-Ice Woman mode.

Wow! What a great effect! This looks amazing! I’ll have to play with the solarize effect and see what I come up with!

    • Thanks Barbara. Here’s a bit of info. I’ve found that the solarize filter that comes with PSP is not very good. The solarize filter that I use is in NIK Color Efex Pro. It has several options that can produce very interesting effects. Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment.
