Photos and Commentary

  • This blog is mostly devoted to photography. I'm still learning, and each photograph I take teaches me more about how to do it better the next time.

I like this quote by Jacques-Henri Lartigue: “I take photographs with love, so I try to make them art objects. But I make them for myself first and foremost - that is important.”

    Thanks for visiting!

Trouble at Swampwater

Posted by blueheronbobcat on January 31, 2012

This looks like the Wild West, but it’s really just a monthly shooting competition of the Lake County (Florida) Pistoleros. There is a wide assortment of authentic and replica firearms in play, and the contestants all dress in cowboy era attire. I was attending as a spectator (photographer) and was dressed in “normal” clothing. All during the competition people would come up to me and ask why I was dressed so funny. I enjoyed watching and photographing their event.

Ford Popular

Posted by blueheronbobcat on January 3, 2012

The Ford Popular is best known as a car from Ford built in England between 1953 and 1962. When launched, it was Britain’s lowest priced car. I saw this automobile recently in a parking lot. I don’t remember seeing one before. It’s a cool looking car.
